Viessmann Recall

Viessmann Recall

Viessmann has voluntarily recalled select Vitodens 200-W and Vitodens 222-F boilers due to the possibility that the heat exchangers may fail prematurely.

Viessmann states:

“During our lifecycle testing methods, we have found that the heat exchanger may fail prematurely. Because this does not meet our exacting standards we made the decision to recall the heat exchanger. This failure may cause flue gases to leak inside the boiler cabinet. The technology inside the boiler is designed to safely shutdown the boiler should this happen.”

Please read Viessmann’s Customer Notice and FAQ for more information.

How Do I Know If My Boiler Is Affected?

Affected boilers:

  • Vitodens 200-W, B2HB series (models 19, 26 and 35) manufactured between September 1, 2014 and April 13, 2017
  • Vitodens 222-F, B2TB series (models 19 and 35) manufactured between September 1, 2014 and April 13, 2017

Viessmann has provided a page dedicated to the recall, which will allow you to enter your serial number to see if your boiler is affected.
