Circulator Pumps With ECM Technology

Circulator Pumps with ECM Technology

Circulators are electrically powered pumps used for circulating water in heating, air conditioning, and domestic hot water systems.

As part of our commitment to uncompromising quality and to installing the most energy efficient heating and cooling systems possible, TJ’s includes circulator pumps with ECM motors on all of its new boiler installations and boiler replacements.

ECM stands for Electronically Commutated Motor.  Basically, circulator pumps with ECM motors offer intelligent speed control.  Speed-controlled pumps automatically adjust their output to changing demand, whether it be due to outside temperature, level of sunlight, overall activity, and other heating sources.  The benefit of having a more efficient ECM motor pump is substantial energy savings, which directly relates to cost savings.

In fact…

  • Replacing a circulator pump can save households more than replacing a fridge
  • Over the last 5 years, circulators have become up to 80% more energy-efficient
  • A more energy-efficient pump seriously improves the energy profile of any house – without any construction work
  • Energy efficiency will become an increasingly important selling point for house buyers
  • Energy-efficient pumps also help eliminate noisy pipes

Bell & Gossett

Featuring ECM (Electronically Commutated Motor) technology and a patented spherical motor design, the ecocirc® auto and vario pump eliminate the need for a conventional shaft, seal and bearing assembly. The rotor/impeller is the only moving part in the entire pump and it is magnetically balanced on a stationery ceramic bearing inside the pump housing to provide silent, long-lasting operation.

Other special features include:

  • Control Modes (auto for automatic proportional pressure control and vario for stepless speed control with a constant curve)
  • Run dry protection prevents motor burnout.
  • Seal-less, leak-free
  • Resistant to scale build-up, ensuring optimal flow with minimal downtime
  • Only self-realigning bearing in the small pump market
  • Self-lubricating and automatically cooled by pump media
  • Resin-encompassed stators eliminate corrosion
  • Energy savings pay back the cost of the pump within months
  • The magnetically centered rotor can tilt to avoid small particles Motor is separated from wetted parts by a stainless steel partition
