Thermal Thanks and Thermal SystemsOur solar and radiant floor thermal tanks are designed for virtually any type of home and come in a wide variety of storage capacities ranging from 109 gallons all the way up to 592 gallons. We are also available to create custom thermal tanks in order to provide your heating needs for virtually any type of home or business. TJ's Heating and Cooling can provide tanks in custom dimensions, including almost any length, width, height, and capacity. We can also extend or add to the heat exchange capacity of your thermal tanks. All thermal tanks are equipped with a tank level, flange set, one low-mount sensor, one high-mount sensor, and 1 single coil internally mounted heat exchanger sized for a ¾" water line. Tanks, series 300 and over, come standard with 2 lid-mounted raceways, to assist additional heat exchangers and fittings. After the thermal tank is installed, you must obtain a pump to move the water up to the panels. You must acquire the controller that does the thinking for you. TJ's recommends evacuated tube collectors from Viessmann and Grundfoss pumps in their solar applications for their consistent reliability. Viessmann evacuated tube collectors and Grundfoss pumps are also designed for ease of installation. Thermal tanks installed by TJ's Plumbing and Radiant Heating utilize the abundant solar heat provided by the sun to generate heat, as opposed to conventional heating systems that utilize electrical power. Due to the high cost of gas and oil and the rising costs of heat, solar power has become very popular in the last few years. Once installed, the heat generated by solar power (from your own solar panels) and stored in your thermal system can work in conjunction with or even replace your home's conventional heating system. Our thermal systems use the power of the sun to heat the water for any number of applications. Some of the most common uses for solar powered heated water are radiant floor heating and solar water pre-heating.
